Online Gaming is the future of gaming. People have been saying it for years, and just as they have predicted, more and more people have been opting to play the latest games over the internet, facing people from all over the world.

There was once a time when playing against an opponent would mean buying a second controller and playing in split screen mode as you battled it out through racing cars, first person shooters and many more. Of course we can still do that, but they do not match up to the thrill of playing against multiple opponents from around the world. It is something that is being embraced by more and more developers and given much more attention than it used to. The multiplayer options on many games are becoming just as important as single player storylines, with many reviewers and gamers defining a game based on its multiplayer experience.

The internet has made the world a lot smaller. Forget email, online shopping, instant messaging and the variety of online services people always mention. The most unique and in depth way in which the net has brought us closer is through online gaming, where we can come together with a purpose and enjoy hundreds of new titles at the same time.
